What’s Happening in March?
Religion: We’re learning that faith is believing in God even though we cannot see him. After Spring Break, we’ll also learn about Holy Week and Stations of the Cross. Continue to practice these prayers: The Sign of the Cross, Hail Mary, Our Father, Glory Be, and Grace Before Meals.
Reading: We’ll learn about the letters w, x, and y. We’ll also start the short o and short e sounds. Keep practicing sounding out any and all words you see! It really helps! We will learn new sight words: said, the, play, she.
Math: We’ll continue addition and start subtraction. Be looking for the “addition math kit” that your child will be bringing home; there are games that you can play together as a family to practice adding.
Social Studies/Science: In March, we’ll gladly welcome the first days of spring! We’ll determine whether the weather of each day in March is a “lion day” or a “lamb day.” We’ll learn what happens in the spring. We’ll also be learning about animals and the difference between living and nonliving things. Because of Spring Break, we’ll celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a little early.
¶ 3rd quarter report cards will be going home. Please sign and return them as soon as possible. ¶ Spring Break is March 15-19. ¶ Kindergarten Round-Up is April 6-9. Your kindergartener will not have school on these days. ¶ Remember to continue checking red folders each night! ¶ Library on Monday (KB) or Tuesday (KH)
